Every week I try to include a challenge into my routine. This week I am going to pull a challenge from the book of workoutmommy called Move it Monday, well…most of it and not on Monday, I added a few of my own twists:
First let’s warm up for 3 minutes…march or jog in place.
Ready to go? This is a tough one! Take a sip of water and let’s roll!
Do the following 10 exercises in a row, no break in between:
1. 25 squats
2. Jog up/down a flight of stairs 10 times.
3. 15 push ups
4. 30 second wall sit
5. 25 jumping jacks
6. 25 squats
7. 25 mountain climbers
8. 30 second wall sit
9. 15 push ups
10. Finish off with 25 crunches
Take a 1 minute break and repeat it 1-2 times!
What do you think? Are you up for the challenge?

@Rosy, Good luck!

Just reading about it tired me out. Does that burn calories? Am I done now?
@Suzie, Thank workoutmommy! π

Okay, I told workoutmommy this was cool drill..I have a plyo drill I usually do, but tonight I’ll give this one a shot! It may take me a while to post my results tho as these workouts are butt-kickers! LOL..
I like this one! I’m going to make myself doing that as I must get rid of my big tummy and extra fats due to sitting in front of my laptop too much after meal. A must to do list!
@LindaM, butt kickers indeed!
@Rosabel, Give it a shot! π
no thank you.
not today.
a wise ole mark told me to take the day OFF and love upon myself instead with a treat (new shoes?)
Miz.
@Miz, You need to to take the day off! Now some of us need to get moving! You deserve a day or five for just you! π
-Mark
Are you nuts?!? LOL
@Marcy, Blame workoutmommy….she is my inspiration for this post! π

Workout Mommy is great!
Such a good challenge.
I’ll give it a whirl this week but i may be dead before the end of the second set π
@suzanne, See how it goes…:)

I love Work-Out Mommy. She’s quite an inspiration for sure!
Dude, this kills man…I remember doing this type of training when I use to do Martial Arts…
Mt climbers get me everytime.

You know me! I am always up for the challenge! π
@Talli, I know you are!
-Mark
thanks Mark! I like the idea to repeat it a few times. Makes it much more fun!
@workout mommy, Oh the burn!
-Mark
I’ll give it a try. But, if you don’t hear from me, you’ll know that you’ve killed me!
Great post as usual! Loves those healthy living exercise
I saw that today over at workoutmommy, and thought (in fact posted) that I would need to do that tonight. It does look like a nice challenge! Now, I’ll compare yours with the mods and come up with some sort of combination. It should be good (read: hot, sweaty, and tired!).
I did workout mommy’s challenge yesterday and it was a challenge!!! It sure got my blood pumping for an active afternoon chasing around toddlers while making chili at the same time π
That would be tough for ANYONE… not matter their level of fitness.
I think that would be my total workout for the day if I tried them!
Done as prescribed above – twice through. During it I was cursing you. Once I finished I was thanking you. Killer workout (at least for me). Just what I needed! So, here you go formally — Thanks much!!

@Lance, Did you curse workoutmommy as well? π
Ooh, I like a good challenge. I may postpone this until Friday (just works better with my week). I’m adding it to my calendar right now, though!
Whoa! My mind is exhausted just imagining myself doing these. I’m up for it though….but it may take a while π
Whew. I’m tired just thinking about all that! For now, I’ll be where I am, but maybe some day I’ll get there.

@Maggies Mind, rest is good! π

this workout sounds great mark and it’s something that I can do at home. Printing this one out. Thanks.
That sounds like a good routine!
love this – mostly for the idea of an easy circuit and simple steps. i’ll love/hate it for how hard it is.
i’ve been working on similar simple drills to use at home with kids (i.e. while i’m out pushing the youngster on the swingset, i can do calf raises on the bottom rung of the ladder) and at various kids’ sporting events. last night i’m sure all the other parents thought i was C-R-A-Z-Y as i did my lunges and squats on the sidelines. i try to come up with things i can do sort of on the sly — tough to do crunches or pushups without drawing some attention!
suggestions in reply are welcome! ann
@amcgoverns, That’s fantastic that you work in bits of exercise when you can. Lunges and squats can be a good burn, some helpful links/resources http://tinyurl.com/5kwewq and http://tinyurl.com/6xu63k great job! π
I did curse workoutmommy too (so, you’re not alone!)!! and now I’m off to thank her…
Wow great challenge. Thanks!
