In the Boot Camp class we are introduced to new tools into our workout routines. A very effective tool that has been inserted into our workout “scene” are the TRX Bands.
“What is a TRX Band?”
With the TRX Bands you use your own bodyweight to create resistance as you train. That’s all you need – the TRX and your own body. No additional weights required.
When we use the TRX bands the upper body, lower body and core are feeling
the burn big time!
Check out some demonstrations (short video) at SlingFitness.
These bands are so portable that when traveling you can just put them in the suitcase.
Great for the beginner to the expert.

@Daryl, Right back at ya!

Sounds like two fun ways to vary my workout. Elastic bands certainly work the muscles big time. Have you tried bowflex?

@James, Yes it is nice to add a variety….I have not experimented with the bowflex.

those look very challenging! I love the fact that you can take them anywhere too.
@workout mommy, You have to try these bands…..excellent workout! Thanks for the feedback!

I’ve tried these before and they rock. I was actually at a fitness convention and the creator ran me through a full-body workout, and it was TOUGH. My abs were so sore the next day.
It’s such a simple idea, but sometimes that makes for the best products!
@Jenn, Great core workout indeed.
Thanks for the feedback!

These are awesome! I love the fact that they are so portable – no weight, no space issues, nothing. When I moved to Canada, I made sure I had resistance bands with me so I could still exercise without other equipment and these follow the same line of thinking.
Once my budget likes me again, these are going on the list with the kettlebells as a must-purchase!
@Gemfit, Excellent portability indeed!

I would love to try the TRX bands sometime – I love resistance band in general, and I’m sure these would kick my booty! I am also taking a boot camp fitness class this summer – it’s an amazing workout and yes, it too is kicking my booty! 😉

@FatFighter, Good for you and your variety….thanks for the feedback!

When I first tried using a resistance band, I was amazed at how tough it was. I figured it would be super lax and easy! (I humbly see that I was very, very wrong:)). I usually prefer to use regular dumbbells as opposed to resistance bands, but the TRX bands look really great. Challenging and also fun (I want to hang upside down!).
@Sagan, I like to mix it up as well. I haven’t tried hanging upside down yet 🙂
