Over the past couple of weeks I have had to take some detours along my journey. Now it is time to get back on the path (If you don’t have one of these–> HR monitor, you might want to consider the investment).
I love to do these mixed workout routines, today I will do them in 10 minute increments.
10 minutes of cardio-the key is to go hard for the middle 6 minutes (2 min. warm-up, 6 min. high intensity, 2 min. cool down). Get the heart rate up for the middle 6!
Pick one of these—> Run, Walk (hills), Elliptical or Step Climber.
10 minutes of body exercises- Do 3 sets of each.
Some options (pick 3 exercises and perform 3 times each)—> pushups, squats, planks, dips, crunches, wall sits, arm curls, triceps extensions.
10 minutes cardio – Maybe switch it up a bit from the first 10 minutes. Again the middle 6 minutes should be intense.
30 minutes with results! Give it a go? π
.Obviously you can’t change your genes, but you can give them a damn good run for their money..

Hi Felice! Keep it going! π
I just bought a Sportline HRM. Not the easiest to use, but it does the job.
This 30 minute workout sounds great! I will have to try it today.
I’ve missed you Mark! I’m up to the challenge. Love the quote! It’s not good genes…it’s good habits! Welcome back!
Welcome back! It’s amazing how much bang you can get for you 10 minutes when you add high-intensity.
Oh, I like this 10/10/10. I’ll use this as my afternoon pick-me-up.
Thanks, Mark.
I love this, Mark! π I’m going to toss out my old exercise plan.
I must confess, this past week hasn’t been going well in terms of eating. I have had a headache since yesterday which I believe to be in direct connection with my eating habits for the past several days. Mark, your post comes in right on time for me!!!
So nice to see you back:)
Hi Irene! Good for you! The HR monitor comes in handy!
Hi Kami! Thank you! π

Hi bobbi! Thanks!
Hey Mark, thanks for the great comment. Your right, things will get better… its just a matter of pushing thru the hard time. I’m back with you…. starting tonight with your challenge! Keep ’em coming!
Missed ya! Glad you’re back! I like this challenge! It’s on the list for when I get home from Italia π Thanks!
Absolutely, give it a go. Sometimes the simplest approach yields the most significant results. My workouts are rarely more than 30-40 minutes in duration, and I’m a big fan of mixing the conditioning and strength together like a stew to keep from getting bored.
30 minutes with results sound good. Most of my workouts are short. It’s the only way for me to make sure I actually stick with it long-term.
10/10/10. Catchy π
30 minutes of workout. The only free time i have is after 9 in the evening π think these are still good just before i go to bed?
Hi Tigerlilly! Awesome! Keep moving forward! π
Hi Rupal! Italy? How fun!
@Jonathan Aluzas, Mixing it up keeps it interesting indeed!
Hi Vered! Go strong! π
Hi Alik! Anytime is okay…are you able to sleep is the question? π
i was thinking of getting a HR monitor. i read that they are better for figuring out how many calories you burned than what the machine tell you. i just don’t want to spend a lot of money. i’m cheap.
I have a HR monitor. It came with my fancy dancey garmin watch. I just can’t be bothered figuring it out and wearing it. I should figure it out. I’ll probably burn some calories just through the frustration caused by figuring out new gizmos and gadgets π
hmm, i don’t have a hrm… thought about it, but somehow i spend the little money i have on other things. maybe someday! i can tell when i’m not giving it my all though π i like the short, intense workouts. who has hours to spend at the gym?
Hi natural! My HR monitor is a HUGE plus! For me it was well worth it.
Hi Urban! Ooh..the Garmin, you have to use that! It will be worth it! I appreciate your input! π
