Did you do your Jumping Jacks this morning? Now let’s do some chest and core. Oh wait I almost forgot….First lets smile and release some endorphins. Okay ready? How about a Kid Press? If you have a young child, lay on your back while you are holding them on your chest. Press them up until your arms are straight and still over chest. Do 10-20 reps. The little ones have fun with this! Mizfit you and Tornado can do this one! π If you don’t have access to a child, push-ups will do fine! Great for chest and triceps (back of arms). *You may want to use a spotter or at least do it over a soft area or on a couch just in case! Now roll over on your tummy…YES I said tummy π . PLANKS! Assume the plank position, the little one can play along as well….hold the position for 30 seconds and rest.
Repeat BOTH exercises 3 times for a total of 4! Keep smiling! π
A few minutes is all it takes. You have a few minutes for you!Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live. -Rohn……….

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI love the idea of the kid press. I could see the kids loving it, plus it would give them a positive perception of fitness in the long term.

I did the jumping jack and tried the 20min workout…almost take my breath away…but i have fun doing these! Thanks!
Exercise gives me a little more pep in the morning. Does shoveling snow and walking the dog count?
I did my JJ with Jillian last night, and my planks yesterday too:) Todays my day off but I love the plank move, my class loves it too π
@David,I agree!
@Rosabel, Good for you!
@Dr. Hubbard, Of course…those always count! π
@bobbi, You are always going!
I think push-ups and planks are probably the two toughest exercises in my collection. This reminds me of how we would “fly” as children– which must have been something like a leg press for my mom!
Dang. I totally forgot about the jumping jacks! I will have to try to remember them tomorrow.
[…] wrote an interesting post today
I did the jumping jacks today…….and I didn’t have to crank my heat up so high in the house first thing π
@tfh, you can do anything! π
@Diana, promise?
@Annette, Great job! π
You truly inspire people to get enthusiastic about exercise. As you say, it does not take a lot of effort to make the most of your time. The image above is breath-taking.
I’m still stuck on smiling…is that okay? π
Good thing I have access to a child. π
Ah planks, how I love thee.
Love the quote Mark! I’m sore from push-ups, but I’m going to fight through it this morning! Whoo-wee! Have a good day!
@Lisa Covert,Thank you for your kind words! :_
@DC Watts, Of course! π
@Vered, you are all set! π
@Sagan, yes the planks!
@Rupal, You too!
Staying dedicated (and sore :-)!!
Thats a good one Ill try it
I do jumping jacks during commercial breaks – you’ll be amazed how long some commercials are!
I have a cold, so I haven’t worked out this week – hopefully I’ll be better by the weekend.
@Dr. J, Awesome! π
@Suzie, Promise? π
@Biz, Yes those long commercials can help push you a bit! π
Please keep reminding us to smile, Mark. Workouts are fun for me. I don’t understand those who grunt and groan the whole time.
Mark:
Well when my son was little I used to do the Kid Press and now he is bigger than me so that’s out:)
I didn’t do Jumping Jacks but I climbed 1750 steps today…do it everyday to keep the old endorphins pumping! π
Thanks for a fun post!
btw, I’d be glad to lend some photos for your site if you like…ping me.
I did jumping jacks and planks yesterday – all because of you, Mark! I do leg presses with my 2 yr old. She asks for the “super Emma” game, and off we go! Thanks for the ideas – keep ’em coming!
